Twenty local football players selected for All-Star game
Twenty players from the football teams at Clarke County, Handley, James Wood, Millbrook and Sherando high schools have been selected to compete in the third annual Coaches USA All-Star Series game at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Rocktown High School in Harrisonburg.
The local products will compete for the 35-player Valley Team, which also includes players from Central, Skyline, Stonewall Jackson, Page County, East Hardy, Strasburg, Luray and Warren County. The Valley Team will go up against the Mountain Team, which will consist of players from Rocktown, Fort Defiance, Spotswood, East Rock, Broadway, Buffalo Gap, Turner Ashby, Riverheads, Wilson, Staunton, Stuarts Draft, Waynesboro, Pendleton County and Harrisonburg. Admission is free to the game.
