Week 2 high school football previews

Dominion (0-1) at James Wood (1-0)

Dominion struggled to a 1-9 record last year, and 2025 hasn’t started off well either. Dominion lost 49-7 to Potomac Falls last week and managed only 65 yards.

The Titans had minus-17 yards rushing. Julian Henry (7 yards on three attempts) led in yardage and freshman Kenan Charif (1 yard on eight carries) had the most rushing attempts. Freshman quarterback Christiandc Christiandc lost 22 yards on four rushing attempts and completed 7 of 15 passes for 82 yards and a TD.

James Wood only gave up 86 yards in its 44-3 win over Clarke County last week. Lineman Heston LaRue (10 tackles, seven solo), linebacker Jackson Ledford (six tackles) and lineman Jabulani Nyabusha (five tackles, forced fumble) led the way.

Dominion will go up against a James Wood team that ran for 300 yards last week. Led by quarterback Owen Neal (nine carries, 78 yards, TD) and Ledford (six carries, 77 yards, two TDs), the Colonels had six players run for 25 yards or more.
