James Wood (1-0) at Dominion (0-1)

James Wood annihilated Dominion at Kelican Stadium last year. The Colonels won 57-6, taking a 43-0 lead at the half and holding the Titans scoreless through three quarters. Quarterback Owen Neal ran for three touchdowns and 55 yards and threw for two TDs and 202 yards. Xavier Price had two of the Colonels’ four interceptions.

Dominion (2-8 last year) will be hard-pressed to stay with James Wood again this year. The Colonels are coming off a 63-7 win over Clarke County, while the Titans fell 55-7 to Class 5 Potomac Falls. The Titans’ returners include All-Dulles District running back and defensive back Will Rivas and quarterback Jaden Walker.

The Colonels (633 yards last week) are led on offense by Neal (302 yards and three TDs passing and 46 yards and a TD rushing last week), receivers Aidric Yurish and Price (combined four catches for 162 yards and three TDs) and running backs Jackson Ledford (six carries, 102 yards and three TDs) and Dane Tews (112 yards and one TD on seven carries).

James Wood’s defense (95 yards allowed last week) includes linebackers Ledford (14 tackles, 2.5 for a loss) and Logan Lafollette (nine tackles, 1.5 TFL) and lineman Heston LaRue (six tackles, 4 TFL).
