Posted: August 25, 2015

James Wood High School 17-year-old senior

Sport: Football. Positions: Running back and linebacker

Parents: Don and Angie Bishop. Hometown: Winchester

What do you love about football: I like the physicality and I always watched football when I was growing up and I thought it was really interesting. My dad got me into it at a young age and then I went into the Winchester Youth Football League.

Most memorable moment in football: Probably beating Handley last year [27-21] in overtime. I thought that was just a fun game overall.

Most embarrassing moment in football: It’s pretty embarrassing when you get crack blocked by a little receiver coming in on you on a toss.

Three people you can have dinner with, dead or alive: Mark Wahlburg, I like him as an actor. Derek Jeter, I’ve always looked up to him. And Jerome Bettis; my dad is from Maryland and my mom is from Pennsylvania so they loved the Steelers growing up so I just went along with them.

If you were stranded on an island, what’s the one thing you’d want to have with you: A boat to get home.

Favorite teacher: Mrs. McNee (a seventh grade teacher at Frederick County Middle] — She was always willing to help and put a smile on everyone’s face in the class.

Favorite athlete: Derek Jeter — I was a big baseball fan before I got into football and he’s just been one of my idols.

Favorite sports team: Pittsburgh Steelers

Favorite movie: “The Fighter”

Favorite book: “The Contender” by Robert Lipsyte

Favorite song: “Don’t Know” by Speaker Knockerz

Plans after high school: I’d like to attend a four-year university and play football hopefully. Shepherd is a big one and maybe Richmond.
